Treasures of Spring – A Feast for the Season

The Treasures of Spring make for a bountiful feast. Fresh spring lamb is a classic for spring celebrations and gatherings. Try a whole rack of lamb or a boneless leg from our wonderful domestic rancher. Or perhaps you prefer the more familiar taste of pork? Then you simply must try a Berkshire Pork Rack. Whole grain Pommery mustard from France is a perfect accompaniment to both lamb and pork. No spring feast would be complete without the short-seasoned and much celebrated fresh spring ramps, fiddlehead ferns and morel mushrooms. (If morels are not available I recommend fresh cultivated Maitake-Hen of the Woods–mushrooms.) Don’t forget a high-quality vinegar like Minus 8 ice wine vinegar for finishing! Some toasted Sardinian pasta (Fregula) makes for a wonderful and unique side dish. Add some asparagus or tender green beans and carrots from your garden (or your local market) which are delicious drizzled with Minus 8 vinegar and serve some fresh fruit for dessert.

So pick some beautiful spring flowers for the  table, invite your family and friends and celebrate the Treasures of Spring–al fresco!

Reduced Shipping Costs

Many of our ingredients are perishable and therefore by necessity, require FEDEX Standard Overnight shipping. There is no way around it - it's costly, and understanding shipping calculations practically requires a degree in actuary science!

In order to help defray your cost of shipping, we have incorporated shipping discounts for many of our finer ingredients. These ingredients are noted on the web site and the discounts will be automatically calculated when the ingredient is added to your cart. These discounts are cumalitive, so you could end up with very low or no shipping charges. (dependant on your location)

The best part is that you might as well add that extra pound of mushrooms, a bottle of truffle oil, some pasta or your favorite "pantry staples" because the shipping costs may not even change!
