By basing his business at one of the most popular travel destinations in the world, he has enjoyed forging friendships with renowned chefs along the journey. ABOUT EDEE
As a fifth generation Floridian from Mt.Dora, Edee Robinson was inspired by her grandmother. Mrs. Mary Simpson was known for her appreciation of the traditions of Southern hospitality. After studying fashion and design in Paris during the roaring twenties, Mrs. Simpson enjoyed hosting memorable parties in the family home which showcased her many artistic talents.
Edee’s inspiration for creating memorable dining experiences stems from her own enjoyment at their cherished family dining table. Her husband, Tom, crafted the table from aged lumber which he carefully retrieved from the bottom of a lake on the family property. The Robinson’s knew the lumber came from a turn-of-the-century sawmill which Edee’s great-great-grandparents owned and used to build area homesteads. Edee and Tom’s shared passion for friends and family led to many wonderful memories at this table. From casual paper-plate cookouts to formal dining with crystal and china, the table has been at the center of many family celebrations, including their wedding reception!
Today, Edee and Tom live in the lovely home that extends the legacy of the Simpson family. Situated near the peaceful waters of a beautiful lake, the Robinson’s turned their cabana and deck into an outdoor living room which attracts frequent guests. Cocktails often lead to dinners prepared with gourmet items kept on hand in the pantry. Edee always looks forward to those perfect opportunities to treat loved ones to something special. Helping others experience those memorable moments is a gift that is shared through Viva Gourmet.
